The Ash people were super detailed. The back story of these people is very interesting, and the concept of their characters was very neat and different. They did not believe in the “ God” in their universe and chose to worship fire saying “ Fire is the only pure thing in this world.” The ash people are similar to the Zoroastrians( Parsis in India and Iran). They think the same thing because they see fire as a symbol of purity and divine light. This probably wasn’t the main idea for the Ash people but it’s a cool reference.
To piggyback off the actors, the acting was very solid. Each actor played each character very believable, especially Jack Champion. He played Spider very well and his growth throughout the two movies was massive. He wasn’t very brave and couldn’t really defend himself and others in the previous movies but in Fire and Ash he shows many signs of bravery while protecting Kiri and the other children of Sully and Neytiti.
The story honestly felt very realistic and not complicated at all. In a need to protect Spider from the Air people they traveled to the Forest people. While they were traveling they were attacked by the Ash people separating them. They later reunite and Miles Quaritch would try and get help from the Ash people to capture Sully. They capture Sully and afterwards Spider helps free him. They later fight and they kill “Miles Quaritch.”
They also killed off a few characters. Metkayina, who died after giving birth, and Rotxo, friend to the Sully children, was shot by a speargun. These deaths were definitely unexpected but really didn’t leave that much of an impact
Overall this movie was very solid. You’ll definitely need to watch the first two before watching this one, but these movies aren’t super hard to comprehend. A fair rating for this movie would be an 8/10.
