Marshall Middle school provides many sports including soccer, Basketball for boys and girls, cross country, volleyball, and track. Although many students wish there were more sports.
Hadlee, a student in A Hallway, would want there to be fast pitch baseball.
” I think a lot of people play that sport and I think they would want a team. Probably in spring or near the end of the year.”
Hadlee started to enjoy fast pitch baseball when she was a little kid. ” My family started playing when I was 4 years old.”
Gage, another student who resides in A hall, said he would love to have golf as a sport for Marshall.
” I wanna learn how to play. I don’t really know if I like it, I just heard of it and it sounds cool.”
“I would like it if it was an individual and a team sport, like when you play against schools that could be an individual but when you learn you will learn as a team.”
Cecia, an eighth grade TMMS student, said she would want break dancing.
” I want break dancing so I can go dancing with my friends. I don’t want it in the summer because in summer everyone is stinky and it makes my head hurt really bad.”
The day before someone told her to break dance for them and they liked it and she started to like break dancing.
Kyndall, another student at TMMS, said she would want girl’s flag football.
” Flag football is so much better than regular football and it’s just goated. I would like it to be played from November to December.”
Kyndall stated that she started playing flag football when she was 8 and liked it ever since.
Asher, a seventh grader at TMMS, said he would like to add badminton.
” It’s kinda like a good sport. I like it personally. I feel like it should have been added to our school for like offers from colleges to play and like high school. We already have the equipment, we have the nets, the bats and I think we are good. I think we should play like after the first boys sport that gets played we have a break between and I think that would be fun to play.”
Asher additionally added that he would want there to be many Marshall teams of 3-5 players each so you would have Marshall 1,2,3 something like that.
Mohamed, a seventh grader at TMMS, said he would want water polo.
” They would make a pool, and they could take out the boys locker room or the girls locker room. Water polo is fun and it should be played anytime of the year.”
Additionally stated he would want to compete against other schools in our district or other districts like Lacey or Tumwater.
Myles, an eighth grader in B Hall, stated he would want tackle football.
” I think the school should have more boys sports. I want to play all over the world. I think we need to expand from just our districts and countries and we can go to places like Japan, Russia, Ukraine, and Israel.”
Turner, another student at TMMS, also stated he would want there to be tackle football.
” A lot of people in our school play it and it’s a very diverse sport and anyone could really play it. I feel like fall would be good to play in because it’s warm enough and won’t be super wet and the fields will be playable.”
Turner said he liked football when he was a little kid and he would watch football with my dad and my grandpa.
” If Marshall had football I would definitely play it to get good team work. I would want to play offensive line because I’m strong.”
Lastly Logan, a seventh grader in CSI, said he would want ultimate Frisbee.
” I just enjoy playing it and I feel like it’s different from most other sports. Probably spring would be a good time. I would also want to play in our district because most of my friends go to different schools in our district and I would like to play against them.”
