Many people have their opinion on their favorite foods cooked at home.

Some people’s favorite homemade food may vary depending on what they eat or like at home, from seafood to mashed potatoes.

Michael Slavin, a seventh grader at TMMS, said that his favorite homemade food is ziti. It is like pasta . My dad puts tomato sauce and a little bit of mozzarella on top and he puts it into the oven and he likes to put cheese on it.”

Home made meals give students some sense of comfort and a special story behind their favorite homemade food.

Myles Tolefree an eighth grader at TMMS said “one of my favorite homemade foods are my dads cookies because I’ll cherish his food more and know if I go to college and I come back and eat one of those I’ll fee they nostalgia and I feel that i’m home safe and with my family where I love to be around. “

Home made meals also carry memories that are special and make their food even more meaningful than just taste.

Mikah Nelson, an eighth grader at TMMS said, “Probably my moms homemade pasta. I don’t know what noodles she uses but the sauce is really good. She makes it at Christmas and we like to have it with Italian sausage. She makes meatballs. You know it’s pretty good.”

Some homemade food can not entirely just be loved for the flavor it can be loved for how it makes people feel.

Asher Geeganamachchinge a seventh grader at TMMS said “my favorite homemade food is the lobster rolls my dad makes. Sometimes he butters them up real well. It’s like mad good.”

For many people homemade food flavor and taste cannot match store bought food.

Henry Epplin, a seventh grader at TMMS said “my dad makes really good dumpling soup. He makes the broth homemade he uses like vegetables and some kind of meat.”

Meals made at home can be stuck with childhood memories with every time they eat it they could relive that memory.

Israel Oramas a seventh grader at TMMS said “my mom makes this really good chicken paprkask and it’s basically chicken and then she puts a bunch of spices and she puts one bay leaf in it and like for a bunch of seasonings it’s really good and then you eat it with rice I really enjoy that and she make potato paprikask but it is just some potatoes and the same sauce but without the chicken.”

Home made food is not just to be eaten it is to be cherished by loved ones, family, friends and generations to come.

Vincent Diaz a seventh grader at TMMS said “my moms butter chicken and fried chicken because my  dad dad was not  always around when i was four, five or six my dad was not around much he is around now but he was up in Seattle most of the time so she would make special dishes.”

Each person’s favorite homemade food may be different showing how unique and diverse food can be.
