The first person I interviewed was Myles Neil (A student at TMMS) And he said that he thought extra credit could benefit lots of people. “I think that it could benefit lots of people in some circumstances, like if you do extra on a test or if you do extra on a group project.” He thinks that if you “Work outside the box.” He thinks it would help turn lots of Cs into As. Also he thinks that it could be unfair for some students if some students get extra credit and others don’t.
Michael Said a similar thing, and said “I think it would be a good addition, in Mrs huffs class I won a game and got extra credit, and I turned out to really need it.” He thinks that more teachers should be offering it. And thinks there could be an extra assignment to do, to earn the extra credit. He also brings up the fact that they use it high school and thinks they could incorporate it in middle school. He also brings up the fact that some students really need it and it could benefit a lot of people. And says “I don’t think it even has to be a lot of points you could earn, it could just be like one or two that you could get back.”
I also interviewed Kai who said “I think its great but its just not given out enough, but I think it needs to.” “It could benefit a lot of people who are struggling in class.” he thinks that “some kids might be embarrassed over there grades and would want to put them up and make them feel less embarrassed.” He thinks that it should be given out to people who really try hard and people who deserve it.
Turner said that “If we work hard enough then we deserve it but it depends on the teacher and student, and if the teacher thinks its fine then we should roll with it but if its not okay for the teacher there does not have to be anything given out.” Turner thinks that the rule about no extra credit is stupid, as he says “I think there rule is stupid as shit, but whatever floats there boat i guess.” He thinks that extra credit would be really nice to have, and that we should have it and thinks that it just should be based off of what the teachers think, and maybe not what the admin thinks.
